The entry of MEH-TAVERSE in the Metaverse has turned heads and piqued the curiosity of NFT enthusiasts. From its faith-based inspiration to the bold price point, the placement of this genesis collection by Patrick Bezalel has led many to ask, “Who is this artist?” This is the inevitable question when it comes to art, even after its digital transcendence into NFTs.

The Hands
The faith-based fine artist, Patrick Bezalel, has scaled an incredible feat in the city-state of Singapore. For one, he has a single-artist gallery right smack in a high-end retail mall that welcomes a regular traffic of over 300 people each weekend (before COVID-19). He owns a separate private studio too that houses his more exclusive works and provides a conducive space for his multimedia creative processes.

Inspired by a biblical character named “Bezalel” whom the bible said was skilled in all manner of artistic works, Patrick pushed the boundaries as an artist to be a jack of all trades and a master of all. Today, he is a hyperrealism, resin, oil and acrylic paint, and Virtual Reality (VR) artist. In the last three years, he has sold over 800 limited edition and original artworks, with the average price (SGD) of $3,000 and $18,000 respectively. Patrick has also been spotted on the global front and invited to participate in exhibitions in Korea, Taiwan, Milan and Luxembourg, on top of various local ones.

Seeking always to offer impressive art experiences, the fine artist further incorporates technology into his craft where viewers can see an Augmented Reality (AR) dimension of his physical artworks with an AR application. This has quickly become his trademark where word has spread that Patrick’s art “comes alive”. As he finally makes his move into the Metaverse and adds “NFT” to his artistic repertoire with his first NFT collection, he has also included the AR feature to 10 of the rarest avatars.

Patrick was a creative director in an agency too atop his portfolio as an artist. Amongst the many creative projects and campaigns he has done, he is most known for drawing for NBA and directing a YouTube animation series for Jr. NBA. Suffice to say, the MEH-TAVERSE NFT collection is not a product of an emerging artist but a venture of an established one.

The Feet
“Behind every successful man is a woman,” Patrick would often cheekily quote, as he speaks of his wife, Lily, who is also the director of Patrick Bezalel art gallery. She founded and led a creative and a digital agency concurrently for 20 years before deciding to commit herself fully to support Patrick’s work. Much of the artist’s success would be accredited to Lily’s ambitious vision and belief for the single-artist gallery. Being the feet of MEH-TAVERSE, she sets the course and pace for the team in positioning Patrick and his NFTs.

The Brain
Working behind the scenes alongside Lily is the team’s advisor, Hosan, who possesses a wealth of knowledge in the area of Crypto and NFTs. He is the co-founder of DeFi Singapore, an Asia-Based Community aimed to equip the public with all things related to Crypto and Blockchain. Being an avid collector himself, his involvement in several Crypto and NFT communities gains the team deep insight into the market and other NFT projects.
