“You mean these are not photographs?”

This is a common remark made by gallery visitors as they scrutinize Patrick Bezalel’s hyperrealism art after learning they are entirely hand-drawn. Although the mixed-media artist’s cutting edge practice extends across various art forms, his work in hyperrealism has notably gained himself the eyes of many.

Patrick uses Apple Pencil to draw the intricate details and achieve the hyperrealistic finish for each art, which consists of up to 300,000 strokes and spans hundreds of working hours. As the original art is drawn entirely on a digital format and saved as a digital file, he only sells physical prints in limited edition — a bummer for the many customers who have requested the original piece over the years. But thanks to blockchain technology, all that has changed!

Having sold over 500 edition prints of his hyperrealism art, the fine artist is finally able to offer the original piece in the form of a 1/1 NFT. He has also conceptualized an animation for the hyperrealism NFTs to add artistic value such that it visually amplifies the inspiration. Collectors can now have bragging rights when they own the original digital piece that is similar yet uniquely distinct from the physical prints.

Patrick is first releasing three of his popular lion art — a fitting imagery of the person of Christ in his majesty and power. The faith-based artist frequently receives comments that his lions seem tame and kind, especially since none of them are seen roaring. This was precisely intended as he wants to portray Jesus as a king who is not just all-powerful but all-loving. The eyes of his lions in particular were drawn carefully and masterfully to have a soft and kind look.
