Where does MEH-TAVERSE fit in the Metaverse?

A simple search on NFT projects in the Metaverse and you can immediately recognise the ubiquity of generative art. So what makes fine artist Patrick Bezalel so confident that his genesis NFT collection MEH-TAVERSE, being a generative art, will be any different?

“I’m not just creating art. I’m spreading hope,” the faith-based artist asserts. As the world continues to be plagued by the pandemic, Patrick believes that people are ever more in need of hope. The MEH-TAVERSE collection featuring 2,222 unique sheep called MEH is his ambitious offer. He wants to share with the Metaverse that though we may feel lost and are wandering through this arduous age of COVID-19, God is like a shepherd, searching us out to save and protect us. This bold move immediately causes Patrick’s project to stick out in the expansive Metaverse as it is inspired by the notions of faith and God, making it especially attractive to Christians.

While critics may argue that a faith-based project eliminates the interest of the secular majority, Patrick believes the niche strategy works in his favour. Firstly, as with his previous physical art collections, the artist’s faith-based works largely avoid common Christian tropes and present a sleek and modern design with animals as the main subject. This unique style thus attracts those who share the same faith while inviting the aesthetes and mall-visitors (Patrick has his own gallery in a retail mall). Retaining the same tactic, the MEHs from his upcoming NFT collection have a funky and cute design which will appeal to the masses as well as Christians who understand the significant imagery of a sheep.

MEH-TAVERSE is not simply built upon the art itself but the journey of the artist. Having sold over 800 original and limited edition artworks in 3 years and participated in exhibitions and fairs in Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, Luxembourg and Milan, Patrick has established himself as a fine artist and gained traction before setting foot in the Metaverse. The genesis NFT collection is his invitation for his supporters to join his faith journey and monumental moment of breaking new ground as an artist.

Patrick confirms he will be in the Metaverse for the long haul and promises to reward his early supporters with special benefits, namely those who mint a MEH. Some benefits include access to his exclusive creations, early mint advantage for future projects, physical toy (MEH) drops, community voting rights, etc. He has also created a Discord server to provide an encouraging and positive environment where everyone, including non-buyers, can learn and grow in their NFT journey. Having Discord members already expressing their appreciation and gratitude for the impact the MEH-TAVERSE project had on them, Patrick is touched to know he is achieving what he set out to do — spread hope.

All investments carry an inherent risk and Patrick would like everyone to practice due diligence before making any decision to invest in a project.
